Biography

Faraz Haider is a PhD student in History. He is interested in the history of modern South Asia with a focus on nationalism and religious violence in the region as well as the intellectual history of the left - regional and global. For his proposed research project, he aims at studying the history and development of Islamic sectarianism in his native city of Lucknow, India. He graduated with honors from St. Stephen’s College with a BA in History and holds an MA degree in History from the University of Delhi, specializing in modern Indian History.
