The Brown History Education Prison Project (BHEPP) was founded in 2012 by a group of History faculty led by Amy Remensnyder with the goal of expanding opportunities in higher education for people incarcerated in the Rhode Island state prison system (RIDOC).
The Choices Program is a national education initiative that is part of the Brown University Department of History.
Engaged scholars combine hands-on experiences such as internships, public service, humanitarian and development work with their academic learning in order to develop a deeper understanding of and appreciation for social engagement.
