Biography
My research interests broadly lie in the history of science, technology, and medicine in modern Asia. I am particularly interested in the production and circulation of paleontological knowledge in twentieth-century China—primarily during the PRC period—and how both the perception of deep time and a new form of nationalism emerged through this process. Before coming to Brown, I received training in modern Chinese and Indian history at Tsinghua University, China, where I completed my M.A. thesis on transfusion technology in colonial India.
