Biography

Ruben Zeeman received a B.A. in History from the University of Groningen, a pre-M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Leiden, and an M.A. in Comparative History from the Central European University in Vienna. He is interested in the similarities and differences between late 19th and early 20th century political, religious and legal thought and 21st century "new civilizationisms." His research explores the ways in which anti-colonial intellectuals and networks contested the production and transmission of knowledge by the League of Nations. He has published in The Palgrave Handbook of Attacks on History, Censorship and Self-Censorship in History Education, and On Education.
