Department of History

Nate received a Bachelor's of Individualized Studies (B.I.S.) from the University of Minnesota, with concentrations in History of Science, Cultural Studies & Comparative Literatures, and Biology. His research centers on monsters and monstrosity in 16th and 17th century European natural history texts and wonder books, and the ways in which monster-making has historically been used as a tool of marginalization. He is particularly in the realm of Early Modern disability studies and trans studies, and the places in which queerness and disability intersect.
