Biography

My research examines how colonial plantation economies transformed relationships between plants, craft, and knowledge in the Caribbean and South Asia. Working across Environmental History, Colonial History, and the History of Science, I plan to combine archival research, oral history, ethnography, and embodied craft practice to investigate how botanical and artistic knowledge circulated through colonial systems. I hope to explore the lasting environmental and cultural legacies of colonialism and the role of craft in rebuilding relationships between people, plants, and place.
