Broadly, Kelby’s research considers the political, cultural, and environmental dimensions of energy in the United States. With a specific attention to electric power systems, she studies the ways in which utility policy—contracts, pricing, advertising, and regulation—translate into lived relationships to power. She received her B.A. in History from Dartmouth College, where she researched the environmental politics of the Tennessee Valley Authority and its coal purchasing policies. She is also the creator and producer of a radio series called “Roadside Vermont,” where she explores the State’s unique landmarks and the stories behind them. Her work has appeared on Louisville Public Radio, Vermont Public, and independent stations in New England.
