Biography

Abigail researches how women in colonial Latin America used witchcraft to negotiate power in their communities. A student of Eastern Huasteca Nahuatl, she is interested in what indigenous language texts can tell us about cultural practices in Mexico's early colonial period. She holds a B.A. in Spanish and Latin American Languages and Literature from New York University and an M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
